In The Sum of All Fears demo, you lead an elite special operations team against a militia group that has taken over an abandoned prison. Your mission is to neutralize the guards, disarm a bomb, rescue two captured ATF agents and reach the extraction point. Packed with action, the demo features five weapons kits and three modes found in the full version of the game including mission, firefight and lone wolf.

You’ll also be able to try out the multiplayer capabilities with other demo users over the Internet. With three difficulty settings and a preset plan from headquarters, players of all skill levels can jump right into the game and get a taste of what this tactical action game has to offer.

On New Year’s Eve, a band of renegade militia members from the hills of West Virginia seize a television station and broadcast their demands on the air.

The F.B.I’s Hostage Rescue Team is called in to deal with the situation. But this is only the first in a series of events that will take the team members from the mountains of West Virginia to the diamond mines of South Africa, and from the deserts of the Middle East to the corridors of wealth and power in Austria.

Just when you thought it was safe to boot up your PC without having to encounter a realistic tactical military FPS from Red Storm Entertainment and Ubi Soft here comes another one. This scorcher of a PC game (or a playable demo) was timed to coincide with the release of the movie based on — what else — a Tom Clancy novel.

The Sum of All Fears (SOAF) rocks! I thought it might be Ghost Recon-Lite but I was mistaken. It�s just as difficult, good-looking, and even better sounding. The deafening weapons sounds made my knees shake.

Some slight modifications have been made to what are really the same menu screens that we all know and love from Ghost Recon (GR). The main difference between SOAF and GR is that SOAF is strictly close quarters battles. None of the vast outdoors enjoyed by GR players. If you want, SOAF is Rogue Spear�s maps with GR�s graphics. This time you�re fighting militia groups as a member of law enforcement. I won�t say any more.

PC specs? If you can run GR you can run SOAF at the same resolution.

You can rock and roll with SOAF�s demo on either single-player or multi-player via Ubi.Com. I tried it. There was zero lag and a ton of fun. Just be sure to keep a change of underwear handy.
